5th October: Harvest Service. & Methodist World Development Sunday.

Gilbert & Sullivan Concert: Friday 14th & Saturday 15th November. Barbara is in the process of putting the Concert together.

16 November 2008: Pet Thanksgiving Service. Preacher Canon Denis McSwiney.

East meets West

Tickets €25.00 for Adults and €15 for under 16 year olds will be on sale from mid-August.
Friday 19th September: 7:30 pm. Venue: Church Hall.
Fund raising for the Church.
A programme of song, dance, instrumental arrangements and poems by members of our congregation from different cultural backgrounds. e.g. Irish, Indian, Korean, Cuban, Nigerian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, etc. Indian Food will be provided and will cater for vegetarians & non – vegetarians.

Holy Week Services: Churches Together Week.

This year’s Holy Week services will be held in Dun Laoghaire Evangical church, from Monday to Friday at 8.00pm. There will be Holy Communion on Thursday Evening. Refreshments after the service each evening. Full Details on our home page.

Women’s World Day of Prayer Service

Friday 7th March 2008 11am. Women’s World Day of Prayer Service will take place in St Michael’s Church, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire.
Women’s World Day of Prayer is a global, ecumenical movement of informed prayer and prayerful action, organised and led by Christian women who call the faithful together on the first Friday in March each year to observe a common day of prayer and who, in many countries, have a continuing relationship in prayer and service. FairTrade Fortnight: 25th February – 9th March.

There is now a very large selection of food and goods with the FairTrade logo available in the shops, from coffee to cotton, food to flowers, wine…. (The Fair Trade wine with the Equality label, Cabernet Sauvignon) won a Gold award at the 2006 International Wine Competition).

Covenant Service

The first Sunday in January is traditionally the day on which Irish Methodist churches hold their annual Covenant Service. The service culminates with the celebration of Holy Communion.

The concept of the Covenant is based on the Old Testament accounts of covenants between God and the Jewish people. It reminds us of all that God has done for his people and in return His people commit themselves to His service.

In accordance with this tradition the 2008 Covenant service will be held on January 6th at the normal Morning Service time of 11.00 am.
